Since July 1st 2014, it has been an authorized obligation that all products used in construction be ‘CE Marked’. This also applies to Steel and Aluminium Products. With your order you will get a Certificate of CE Marking and a Declaration of Performance, these two documents can be used to prove that the steelwork carries a valid CE mark.
It is important for a supplier to use CE compliant, as it is a criminal offence to install Structural Steelwork that is not CE complaint. It is possible that trading standards could compel the removal of non conforming products from a building or structure, even if the project has been completed.

The CE marking indicates a product’s compliance with EU legislation and so enables the free movement of products within the European market. By affixing the CE marking to a product, a manufacturer declares, on his sole responsibility, that the product meets all the legal requirements for the CE marking, which means that the product can be sold throughout the European Economic Area (EEA, the 28 Member States of the EU and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein).
